We are so excited and overwhelmed with the massive in this subject! Thank you all so much for joining in, and for continuing to find safe and natural ways to support your amazing children’s physical & emotional health. We, as parents, want to ensure that our children are able to focus, think clearly, and do well in all areas of their lives. The content for this class was created with a LOT of help from others. I gathered testimonials and advice from parents, caregivers and fellow clinicians. Our friend, Ms. Keare, researched extensively on the internet, at the library, and in her various reference books. She scoured oil chat groups for recipes and ideas and she applied her own clinical knowledge and experiences throughout the information- gathering process and created this workshop for us to share. That said, please understand that this class does not claim to “have it all,” nor does it intend to convey a “one size fits all” approach with essential oil and supplement use. Oils affect people very differently based on their age, gender, special considerations, and individual biochemistry. Often times a fair amount of trial and error is needed to find the best fit for yourself, your child, and your particular needs. Please keep this in mind as you read through the posts. The way that essential oils help us is by maintaining vitality and wellness in our minds and bodies (and we believe within our spirits as well). To that end, we will be sharing about them using “Wellness Speak,” instead of labeling or addressing specific diseases or disorders. There are several reasons for this: to help you apply this information to a broader range of applications; to clarify and model that what we are truly doing with the oils is SUPPORTING wellness; and to maintain legality and appropriateness - essential oils are not categorized as medicine. We can not make claims that they fix, treat, or cure diseases or disorders. We believe that this approach will make perfect sense as we get started, but please feel free to “read between the lines” to determine if a particular suggestion or recipe would be good for you to try with your own unique child. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us or to the person who invited you to this page.
This information was written with Young Living Essential Oils in mind. All recommendations for use are for YL oils only. We use YL for ourselves and our family members because of our absolute trust in their purity, and in the company's dedication to safety and quality. Please do not apply the recommendations shared here to other oil brands, as we cannot assure you of their quality or safety. Read through this Seed to Seal graphic for more details on why Young Living is the only essential oil brand for our precious loved ones!
Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO) are incredibly strong, highly concentrated oils. To that end, it’s extremely important to proceed with safety and caution at the forefront of your mind. This includes common sense precautions such as keeping your oils in a safe place, out of reach of curious children who love to copy what they see their parents doing! When using the oils with your family, the phrase to keep in mind is “low and slow,” meaning it’s best to start out with low dilution ratios and slow introduction of one single oil at a time. This helps you identify if there is any adverse reaction or plain aversion to a particular oil - something you could not easily figure out if you started with a blend of several oils. Reactions are incredibly rare when pure essential oils are used appropriately, but for someone brand-new to YLEOS, this type of "detox" reaction may manifest as a mild headache or nausea. If this occurs, back off using the oil, apply more carrier oil if the EO was applied topically, increase water intake, and consider a warm bath with plain epsom salts. This type of reaction is indicative of the oils doing their job, which can be overwhelming at first. A true allergic reaction to oils is highly unlikely, but to be cautious it's best to avoid an oil made from a plant that you or your child is allergic to.Dilution is of utmost importance with YLEOs, especially when using them with your children, and even more so with children who are perhaps highly sensitive or medically fragile. As always, consult with your physician before proceeding with oils if your child has any significant medical conditions or concerns. Refer to the dilution chart below when using YLEOs with your children. This graphic represents the maximum safe dilution ratios for topical oil use with children, so please feel free to dilute even more when first starting out. Patch test each new oil to check for skin reactions; this is especially important for kiddos with sensitive skin. Because of their incredible potency, YLEOs are effective at as low as 5% dilution for adults (e.g., one drop EO in 19 drops of carrier oil), and 1% for children, so don't be afraid to be overly cautious, especially when first starting out!
Some of our unique children may deal with seizure activity, and/or respiratory diseases. To be on the safe side (and we should ALWAYS be on the safe side with EO use!), proceed with utmost caution and apply these oils only if you truly need the benefits. If you do choose to, apply the oils in this graphic very well-diluted, and only to the bottom of the feet. This includes for blends containing any of these oils, so always check the ingredients prior to use.
Wow! Did you know that oils go into the bloodstream so quickly? That’s why we always recommend that if you’re starting to use oils, you always start slowly and gradually work up to using more than one drop or using multiple oils at one time over time.
Essential oil chemistry is remarkable. The molecules of essential oils are so incredibly tiny, that they are able to perfuse into the tissues, circulatory system, and deepest cells within the human body. They are composed of hundreds of chemical constituents, which allows EOs to support many different systems and functions within the body. For some oils (e.g, those high in chemical constituents called sesquiterpenes) this includes penetrating into the deep structures of the brain, where our memories, emotions, and sleep cycle regulation all live. There are three different methods of use for essential oils: Aromatic, Topical, and Internal. All three may be recommended throughout Thursday's class, but please remember that EO use is very personal. If you are not comfortable with using oils topically with your child, or are opposed to ingesting them, that is perfectly fine. You should never feel pressured to use oils in a way that doesn’t feel right for you or your family. The good news is that diffusing is the easiest and most direct way to utilize the benefits of EOs, and this method is just as effective as the others for most needs. See the graphic for more information on the three methods of EO use.

Essential oils, when applied to the feet, will perfuse throughout the body and support what you are trying to accomplish. It takes an EO approximately 20 minutes to circulate throughout the systems of the body when applied topically.

Many kids with sensory defensiveness or sensitivities may not like to have oils applied to their skin, or may have an aversion to the smell of certain oils. Fear not! There are many ways to get oils into your child's system with a little creativity and maybe a little bit of slyness!
TACTILE AVERSIONS:
- Put a drop of focus-supporting oil on a wooden pencil tip
- Infuse oils into sensory play materials, such as rice, bubbles, play-doh, or water play
- Hang oil-infused "diffusers" around where your child is working or playing. This can be as simple as a cork, untreated wood scrap, or cotton ball
- Infuse diffuser jewelry (necklace, bracelet, charm) with EOs
- Diffuse! If the smells don't bother your kiddo, this is a great method to get the effects of the oils while avoiding topical applications. You may have to do some trial and error to find oils that are both effective for your needs AND acceptable to your child's nose
SCENT AVERSIONS
- Diffuse before your child awakes, or before they come home, or in the car before picking them up
- Apply EOs to the bottom of the feet using VitaFlex points
- Infuse lotion or body cream with EOs
- Mix oils into Epsom salts and use during bath time
- Infuse shampoo and/or conditioner with oils
- Spray onto child's clothing and/or bedsheets when he/she is not around to protest
- Use EOs in your dryer using wool dryer balls
- Spray oils around the room before your child is home
- Mix into smoothies ONLY IF INGESTIBLE
Keep in mind that any absorbent material is a potential "diffuser." You could add EOs to the baskets that house your child's toys, or the napkin he uses for dinner, or the lapel of his coat, or the curtains of the window where he sits to do work, or her headband, or the dog's collar! The possibilities are virtually endless once you start seeing your home and world through the eyes of an oiler! If your child is around you, then you can become the diffuser! Whatever you are wearing on your body or in diffuser jewelry will impact those around you.
Here is a helpful list detailing which type of carrier oil is contained within the various Young Living EO blends. If there is a blend that you really want to use, but the carrier oil is an allergen to your loved one, reach out for alternate suggestions. Essential oils typically have a wide variety of applications, and each issue you are hoping to address could potentially be approached with many different oily ideas!
Many families with unique and sensitive kiddos avoid gluten. Here is a list of Young Living products which contain gluten, so that you can avoid accidental exposure within your families.
You parents and caregivers amaze me beyond description! We have endless amounts of love and respect for you and your families. The sheer amount of time, energy, effort, and mental power it sometimes takes to support your unique loved ones is mind-boggling. All the while loving, playing, connecting and parenting your children, there are thousands of other strategies, techniques, appointments, treatments, sessions, and tools that you’re expected to apply ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY. Parenting a spirited child affords a special kind of beauty and insight into the world that others can’t truly understand, but it’s also at times physically and mentally exhausting, and frustrating, and tedious. It is so incredibly important for you all to take care of YOURSELVES, so that you have the reserves to support your loved ones. If the primary caregiver is burnt out, no-one wins!!
These next few posts are for you…some ideas for how to support yourselves in mind, body and spirit.
Are you occasionally achy from carrying, moving, dressing, lifting and transferring your child? Do you feel fatigued now and then from constant deep compression embraces, or the fact that you never ever (not ever!) slow down, stop moving, or rest? Use invigorating, warming YLEOs to support your hard-working body, and to provide you with relief from occasional aches.
- Deep Relief Roll-On: This handy roller bottle is a complex and incredibly strong blend. It’s great for those persistent, nagging twitches that sometimes happen in your neck, lower back, or anywhere else it’s needed! This popular YL blend contains Peppermint, Lemon, Balsam Fir, Copaiba, Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Vetiver, and Dorado Azul EOs with a coconut oil carrier.
- PanAway: An invigorating blend of Wintergreen, Clove, Helichrysum and Peppermint, this blend is a favorite for use with Epsom salts in a warm bath or foot soak, or as a muscle rub diluted into a carrier oil of your choice. Supports healthy nerve and muscle function, and is very useful for when you might have achy hips and legs.
BLM: This is a supplement that YL carries, which was formulated to support healthy bones, ligaments and muscles. It’s available in capsules and powder form. Not suitable for vegetarians, as the collagen is poultry-derived.
The nervous system can only take so much before it starts to feel depleted. Here are a few ideas for supporting yourself in managing the intensity of your days with calm and balance.
- Stress Away: diffused or worn topically behind the ears and/or wrists, this oil is incredibly effective at bringing on the calm! It smells like a tropical vacation.
- Valor (I or II): applied neat to the temples, wrists, or over the heart, this amazing blend can melt away the tensions of daily life like no other. To reach similar effects when Valor isn’t available, blend equal parts Frankincense and Blue or Black Spruce.
- White Angelica: often referred to as “patience in a bottle” by devotees of this blend, White Angelica is typically applied to the crown of the head and the shoulders neat. It was formulated to dispel negativity and promote peaceful, calm interaction with one’s environment. Many people have described feeling as though they have a force-shield against negativity when wearing this oil. A great one to use for those dreaded IEP meetings!
- “It’s All Good” calming blend: 50 d. Lavender, 35 d. Valor I or II, 30 d. Stress Away, 15 d. Patchouli, 15 d. Vetiver. Put into a 15ml bottle and top with carrier oil, then attach a YL aroma glide fitment top.
- “I Can DO This!” balancing blend: 30 d. Lavender, 30 d. Stress Away, 15 d. Joy. Put into an empty 15ml bottle and top with carrier oil, then attach a YL aroma glide fitment top.
It’s easy for any parent to feel like they aren’t doing enough; that feeling is compounded when one is parenting special children with a variety of often demanding needs. All of us need to remind ourselves (and often!) that we are doing the very best that we can with what we have! There are many emotionally supportive oils and blends carried by YL; here is a small selection of some ideas for supporting yourself in KNOWING you are enough! Please ask in the comments below if you need additional ideas!
- Frankincense: balancing; supports calm
- Bergamot: incredibly uplifting
- Spruce (Blue or Black): fortifying and confidence supporting
- Forgiveness: promotes acceptance for oneself and others
- Peace & Calming (I or II): supports peace and calm!
“We all need Peace & Calming to get into the car with him in the mornings! I think we can use them [YLEOs] to actually become better caregivers in the long run.”
These amazing, special and unique kiddos are sometimes very fragile and medically complex. Their sensitive systems are not always operating the way that the rest of ours do, and therefore the more we can help them support healthy and robust cellular health, the better off they’ll be. There are a few different oils that are recommended for cellular support:
- Frankincense and/or Sacred Frankincense: readily cross the blood-brain barrier, supporting balanced neurological health for the cells throughout the brain. These oils are calming and centering, and may stimulate emotional release. Both are safe to ingest.
- Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood: incredibly high in sesquiterpenes, which are said to help the body naturally deprogram “bad” cellular memory, and to support the limbic system (deep brain structures). This is an oil most “unique” kiddos will benefit from having around.
- Orange: incredibly balancing, Orange is also typically very well-liked by most people, including those with sensitivities to smells. This oil is very high in d-Limonene, a constituent that supports overall vitality and cleansing. This is a great one to sneak into smoothies!
- SARA: Supports healthy neurological function. This oil has a deep and calming scent.
- Rose: considered the most powerful support to natural healing of any essential oil known to man, this incredibly rare and fragrant oil is an excellent choice for promoting body-wide cellular support. It’s incredibly floral, and a little goes a very long way. One drop of Rose diffused is sufficient to permeate an entire room with the intoxicating scent.
For some of these unique children, you parents may have extra work cut out for you to support healthy, vigorous blood flow and muscular function when low tone is a concern. Here are some ideas for how to safely support your child:
- Cypress: supports healthy blood flow. This is a very gentle oil which requires only minimal dilution. Use topically on pulse points, joints, or across whole muscles in a massaging application. This oil will support drawing circulation to where it is applied, so keep that in mind when choosing how to use Cypress.
- BLM, Power Meal, MutiGreens, Balance Complete, MegaCal, Juva Powder, Juva Spice, and Protein Complete are all good supplements to consider for supporting your child’s healthy muscular functioning. If your child is Gluten Free, please cross-reference these suggestions with the Gluten-containing product list I posted.
- Nutmeg, Palo Santo, Dorado Azul, Juniper, and Idaho Balsam Fir are all good EOs to consider for supporting muscular integrity, blood flow, and vigor. Nutmeg is also an excellent adrenal support, so apply it diluted over the kidneys for this purpose.
Some of our kids might have occasional skin sensitivities, which may benefit from additional TLC to soothe and calm. Young Living has a variety of gentle and effective essential oils that are safe for use on the most defensive of skin types! Always consider your carrier oil carefully, and skin test with your child prior to adding EOs. Because most carrier oils are nut- and fruit-derived, there may be a reaction to the carrier oil rather than the EO. The only way to test this out is to apply them separately! Once you’ve established a carrier oil that your child tolerates well, start very LOW with your choice of EO(s) to start; you can always add more!
- Lavender: soothing and calming for nearly all skin types. Works well in a bath, homemade lotions, soaps, or body oil. Can be infused into salves and balms as well.
- Gentle Baby: formulated for babies 6 months and up, this lovely blend has the softest scent, and is safe for even your tiny tots. Many of the oils in this blend are excellent for the skin, so this makes a great addition to a nighttime massage oil or lotion.
- Rose Ointment: this is a complex formula which provides maximum support to the skin’s natural healing process. Rose Ointment seals in EOs, allowing them to provide maximum support.
- Tea Tree: very gentle and versatile, this essential oil helps support calm, even skin. Use once in a while as spot treatment.
- Melrose: this oil is a stronger blend, and is an excellent choice to support to healthy, robust skin that is free from redness or discomfort.
Our skin is our largest organ, and it absorbs the tiny molecules of YLEOs readily. When applying a lotion or cream over a large surface area on the body, be sure to dilute heavily so you are not overdoing it. This is especially true when first starting out. Remember: you can always add more!
There seems to be a never-ending list of reasons why the parents of unique kiddos sometimes dread meal times. Food aversions (that are often extreme and/or change without warning), incredible pickiness, lack of appetite, or even swallowing difficulty adds a lots of pressure to parents who just want to get healthy foods into their children. We imagine some of your kids may even require tube-feeding, which introduces a whole different set of responsibilities. Here are some ideas for helping support both you and your child at meal time:
- Digestion: if your little one struggles with occasional digestive concerns, consider one of the following oils to support healthy elimination and a calm system: TummyGize, Ginger, DiGize, Peppermint, or Cardamom. TummyGize was formulated for use with GI support in kids age two and up, so it doesn’t require further dilution. The others would need to be diluted for use with a child, and could be applied directly to the stomach, the VitaFlex points for the stomach, or diffused. All of these oils are appropriate for internal use; however, topical use of EOs for digestive support is a more approachable method of use, and is incredibly effective.
- Pickiness/Aversions: We want to be careful to emphasize here that we don’t think the use of EOs will magically make your child’s persistent and/or severe food aversions disappear. But we do think there are oils which support positive, flexible mentation, and are worth a try if this is a big area of stress for you and your family. White Angelica, Surrender, and Acceptance are three oils that parents have recommended to me for this specific purpose.
- Eats like a Bird: Need some help encouraging your little one to enjoy their meal? Try one of these oils applied topically with proper dilution: Bergamot, Nutmeg, Ginger, or Spearmint. You could also diffuse one of the following prior to meal time: Hyssop, Lemon, Myrrh, or Orange
- Life 5: a powerful, natural probiotic supplement to support your child’s healthy gut!
- Protein Complete: a very tasty powder that comes in both Chocolate and Vanilla flavors, this is a good way to pack a ton of protein (28g per serving!!) into what your child hopefully perceives as a special treat. True story: Most of us detest most protein powders and absolutely love this one.
G-Tube Care: Stomas are prone to redness, discomfort, and sometimes infection. Of course, please consult your child’s doctor if you have concerns about their feeding tube button, but meanwhile you can support healthy tissue surrounding the site with diluted Tea Tree, Melrose, or Purification. For mild discomfort or itchiness, a cream made with coconut oil and Lavender is an excellent idea.
Some of the biggest challenges parents of unique kiddos face is the lack of flexibility in their thinking, and difficulty with transitioning. Both of these things can quickly lead to huge blowups and derailing of an otherwise wonderful day. Kiddos who are highly repetitive in their actions and habits might have a harder time sometimes accepting someone else’s suggestion or a change in plans. Here are some ideas for supporting calmer acceptance of transitions, or for supporting your child in being calm and level-headed.
Flexibility: Surrender (the name speaks for itself!), Common Sense (supports decision making), Sacred Mountain (supports calm confidence), Ylang Ylang (supports a balanced mood), Patchouli (supports a balanced mood), Frankincense (supports clear thinking), Black Spruce/Idaho Blue Spruce (support confidence and calm), Idaho Blue Spruce, Brain Power (supports clear thinking). One parent sharing liking the effects of diffusing Humility, Gratitude and Surrender together to maintain calm and openness to change.
Easing Outbursts: Grounding, diluted in a roller and applied topically is a BIG TIME FAVORITE of many families for this purpose (including mine)! Joy, Stress Away, and White Angelica are three other great choices.
Oils are very individualized, and an EO or EO blend that works great for another family might not be the right fit for your child. Keep an open mind and be willing to try a few different ideas to see what works best to support your loved one(s). Sometimes the kids know better than we do what they need, so always check in with them about which ones they prefer the scent of, and if you’re able to, ask if they notice how the oils make them feel. Their insight is incredibly valuable and profound when traveling on this oily journey together!
Their 13-year-old unique daughter was absolutely refusing to get out of bed. Mom applied Brain Power and En-R-Gee, and less than an hour later they all left the house, with her daughter smiling and laughing!
Let’s face it, even the calmest kiddos can get worried sometimes. But when your child deals with occasional nervous tension, and they have a hard time working through it, that can really wear on everyone in the family. There are a lot of different options to consider when supporting your child in feeling calm in his thinking and safe in his own skin. Here are a few of the favorites among the families and caregivers we consulted:
Orange
Vetiver
Peace & Calming
Grounding
Ylang Ylang
SARA
Frankincense and/or Sacred Frankincense
White Angelica
Sacred Mountain
Joy
Patchouli
Stress Away
Roman Chamomile
Any single, blend or combination of various oils could be trailed with your little one. Most of these would be best attempted diffused at first, before making a roller blend that may or may not be effective for your needs. Remember that oils help to support overall wellness, so it’s best to use them in anticipation of an expected behavior. This will potentially support balance and calm to the point that the nervous tension never manifests itself!
So many of our unique kiddos struggle to maintain their concentration, which in turn affects their learning and socialization skills. Helping support natural, calm focus in a child is one of the most profound ways to impact how they perceive of and make sense of the world around them. In fact this is true for ALL of us, not just our kids! For focusing oils, consider applying to the tip of a pencil, or a short necklace that hangs just under your child’s nose. There are many ways to enable your child to utilize the benefits of oils gently throughout the day. Here are some favorite oils and recipes to try with your loved one(s):
Brain Power: a powerful blend of oils! Dilute and proceed slowly. Apply to brain stem.
GeneYus: formulated specifically for children, this doesn't require further dilution and has an amazing smell! Diffuse or apply to diffuser jewelry and/or brain stem.
Clarity: a blend with a distinctive Basil scent, this is a favorite for some families, diffused.
Vetiver/Lavender/Cedarwood: diluted into a roller, or diffused together. This is concentration magic right here!
Valor: Confidence and focus support in spades! With a scent to die for. . .this is a personal favorite for my whole family.
Rosemary: said to stimulate and support the memory center within the brain’s limbic system.
Lemon: invigorating and very pleasant to most noses!
Peppermint: may be a bit strong for some. Use with caution in your home if there are any medical conditions such as seizures or respiratory disease.
“Unknown to him, I had put a drop of vetiver on the tip of his pencil before he got home. When it was homework time, he sat down for almost 45 minutes and did his whole workbook! He usually gets up five or six times, and has to be redirected constantly.”
Keeping our immune systems healthy and in top-notch condition is important for everyone. This becomes even more crucial, and perhaps more of a challenge, when dealing with kiddos who may be more medically fragile. Essential oils are an excellent way to provide natural, powerful immune system support. Here are some ideas for keeping your child’s body robust and healthy!
General immune support: Ningxia Red, Lemon, Thieves, Oregano, ImmuPower, Exodus II, Longevity. With an immune support regimen, it’s a great idea to use an oil like Thieves and/or Lemon on a regular basis. If your child happens to fall ill, it’s a great idea to switch up the oil that you use, to support the immune system from a fresh angle. Dilute appropriate for your child and apply to the bottoms of the feet.
Respiratory Support: R.C., Breathe Again, Lavender, SniffleEase. Each of these oils works to support robust, healthy respiration. Diffusing is a great option for all of these oils. They could also be added to a homemade cream to rub on the chest. If needed, Lavender or SniffleEase provide excellent support when diluted and applied topically along the sinuses. Be very careful of the eyes if using EOs in this way, and apply more carrier oil if the fumes irritate your little one.
Healthy Ears: Use Tea Tree, Lavender, Basil or Purification oils to support healthy ear function. DO NOT EVER put EOs directly into the ear. Instead, rub your EO of choice diluted behind the ear and down the neck (eustachian tube), and/or drop onto a cotton ball and place gently atop the opening into the ear.
These unique kiddos sure can be wakeful! There are always a variety of factors that could be contributing to occasional restless, inadequate sleep duration and/or quality. Here are just a few ideas for how to support your child in healthy, restful nights!
Vetiver: allows a busy mind to enjoy quiet time; helps to support calm and balanced thoughts
Valor: supports healthy respiration during night time; great for promoting natural calm
Sacred Mountain (alone or with Orange or Lavender): supports calm confidence and unbroken, quality rest
Lemongrass: supports the brain’s natural circadian rhythms, or the internal clock that tells our brain it’s time to rest (and stay resting!)
Cedar wood (alone or with Lavender): Promotes and supports calm and restful nights.
Peace & Calming: Natural calming support for before and during bedtime.
Dream Catcher: A complex and lovely YL blend, this oil supports a calm and happy mind during rest time.
Brain Power: supports natural production of melatonin in the brain
I want to reiterate that oils are very individualized, and this is especially true for sleep time. Always “test” an oil during a NON sleep time first, just in case your little one has an unexpected reaction. Although uncommon, there are people who are actually stimulated by Lavender or Peace & Calming.
- Support neurological health with Frankincense in kiddos who have known seizure disorder. Please always consult with your physician prior to using EOs.
- Support language synapse with Common Sense, Frankincense or Brain Power. Apply diluted properly to behind the ears and brain stem, and diffuse.
In addition to the resources below, we wanted to share with you all the best ways to "Google research" the essential oils and uses you are learning about (as many of you will likely want to support what you're hearing with your own reading and independent inquiry).
So, a little experiment. Let's say you're interested in Lemongrass essential oil, so you go to Google and type "Lemongrass essential oil." Go do this, and look at what you see:
- Sponsored pages of essential oil companies
- Blog posts about uses for Lemongrass EO
Does this mean that there is no meaningful information to be found about Lemongrass oil? Is there really that little research on these amazing and long-used chemicals? Well. . .no. Not quite.
Essential oils are made of up their many chemical constituents. This is what makes them. . . essential! Geranial is the constituent largely responsible for what makes Lemongrass oil so versatile and amazing. So for a quick exercise in contrast, go to Google and type "constituent Geranial" and see what you find:
- NIH research regarding Geranial
- Chemistry books regarding ingestion of volatile chemicals
- Various published articles regarding the constituent
- Wikipedia entries for the chemical structure and action of the constituent
Further research using the Genus and Species names of Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuous) leads to Wikipedia entries about the herb, the USDA website, herb and herbology websites, research articles, and blogs.
Make sure to check out the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's current research into EOs - pretty cool stuff to see the research catching up with what parents already know to be true!
