Dr. Amanda Whaley operates her private practice, Turquoise State Natural Medicine, in Chandler, Arizona and specializes in regenerative medicine, diet, nutrition, and GI health with a special interest in medical genetics and functional medicine. Prior to medical school, she received her bachelors of science in biochemistry with minors in chemistry and microbiology from New Mexico State University. Upon graduation, she assisted in the start-up and operation of a successful DNA analysis company in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Additionally, she has served as adjunct faculty in the department of biosciences at Phoenix College in Phoenix, Arizona and Eastern New Mexico University - Ruidoso.
Biomedical Nutrition Counselor Brooke McGregor has a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Sustainability from Arizona State University. Her minor allowed her to specialize in food processing and agriculture. This is where she developed a passion for research in environmental toxins and their effects on the human body. With the combination of human nutrition and awareness of outside environmental toxins, it allows Brooke to individualize dietary goals. She provides families with customized and realistic diet plans for their specific needs. She works in phases including meal plans, food preparation, grocery lists, and how to incorporate dining out. The family is never overwhelmed and has an advocate throughout the diet transition. Along with nutrition,Brooke integrates aromatherapy and other alternative methods to assimilate into the child’s life. By working with the child and his/her family, we can achieve a higher standard of health and development.
As a one-on-one provider for children with autism since 1999, a psychology major, and President/CEO of A Brighter Avenue, L.L.C., (f. 2008 - an agency that provides Speech, Occupational, Physical, and Music Therapies, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Habilitation, Respite, and Attendant Care), I have seen hundreds of children with autism attend therapies and services, both those who pursued biomedical treatments and those who did not. My own son, born in 2009, has moderate, non-regressive autism. My son's ATEC has dropped from 110 to 40 and conitinues to improve! As a provider, agency owner, and an autism parent, I feel I have a unique prespective from many angles. I am excited to offer this branch of biomedical service, as I feel (and have seen with my own child) that treating the underlying biomedical issues is a must on the autism journey.
Dr. Elizabeth Gillman is still on board with A Broader Approach.
She continues to see her existing patients, but is not taking on any new patients at this time.
